How to bring healthy vegetarian meals into your diet

No matter what you normally eat, it is easy to bring healthy vegetarian meals into your monthly, weekly or daily diet. A vegetarian diet can help you obtain exactly the health and energy you need. You just have to follow those three simple rules:
1. Learn how to substitute meat in your vegetarian meals
Most people don’t know where to start when it comes to becoming vegetarian. A recurrent error is to only remove meat from the normal meals, for example, a spaghetti sauce with the same ingredients but no meat, or rice and vegetables without the usually chosen chicken, or just a salad and potatoes with a big empty space in the plate where the steak usually was. One needs to substitute meat, to replace it with healthy vegetarian foods, full of proteins and flavor. This way, eating vegetarian meals won’t become a burden and a synonym of lack and scarcity, but rather a fun and fulfilling experience. You may research a lot of new recipes on the internet, but meanwhile, here are a few tips on replacing commonly used meats.
Ground beef: ground tofu, or ground nuts and vegetables, or soy protein
Beef: grilled tofu with spices, or seitan, or fried eggplant strips in a sandwich
Chicken: in most recipes, tofu or seitan, but also, portabella mushrooms.
Learn to accept legumes, sprouts, nuts, grains, complete cereals, and greens in your new healthy meals. They don’t look or taste like meat, but they are a great and healthy source of everything your body needs, and a great way to keep on to your goal.
2. Enhance the flavor of your vegetarian meals by using new ingredients
Our body needs diversity in order to remain in full health. One can be sure to fill all his or her body’s needs if one eats a large range of different ingredients. In your new vegetarian meals, don’t forget this key. Try new vegetables, new peas, new sprouts, fruits, nuts, cereals. Every time you see a plant that you don’t know, buy it, and try to incorporate it in your recipes. Be creative, and remember that the whole attitude of learning new tricks, new foods or is going to help your whole life becoming more interesting, hence help you keep it up to nice habits and nice vegetarian meals, and a better health. You may even come to completely adopt this new lifestyle without ever regretting the time before you became vegetarian…
3. Have fun and love your vegetarian meals.
You will have to have fun it you want to keep it up to your vegetarian ideals, and benefit from this healthy diet. Once more, be creative, learn, and enjoy. If you believe your last recipe was a failure, it’s ok. Try again, and keep smiling.
